Phillip Karuppiah joined LexisNexis in March 2006. He brings with him 20 years of experience in financial services, consulting, communications, human resources and publishing.

Before joining LexisNexis Malaysia, Phillip was the managing director of Sun Media Corporation, publisher of the Sun newspaper. To arrest declining revenues, he led a new management team to successfully restructure it and adopt a free business model – a first for Malaysia. The paper is today Malaysia’s second largest circulated English daily.

His earlier experience includes heading the Human Resource and Corporate Communications divisions of PhileoAllied Group, a listed financial services organization and heading the Public Affairs practice at Burson Marsteller, an international public relations consultancy.  Prior to that he was employed by Malayan Banking Berhad where he served in various divisions, including International Banking, Credit and Branch Operations.
