Bart Sjoerdsma took on the leadership of the SEA region in January 2011. He has 16 years of global experience in publishing, online and program management with work experience in the US, Singapore, Japan, Netherlands and Belgium.
He has held several roles within Reed Elsevier since 2003, including e-Product Development for LexisNexis Asia, Risk Technology for Reed Elsevier in New York and Electronic Publishing for Reed Business in Amsterdam.
Bart has been a part of the LN Asia management team since 2007 and was responsible for the development and growth of the online products across Asia. He launched local online research products in all of our markets in Asia and supported strong revenue growth in our local research services. He architected and managed the implementation of the Lexis Singapore, Malaysia and India online services.
Prior to joining Reed Elsevier, he has held various program and management positions in the technology divisions of ExxonMobil to support the plants and worldwide e-commerce initiatives and managed the start up of the plant information systems of a multibillion dollar chemical complex in Singapore.
